Open in App
Solution

Instructions:The answer to this question can be given by explaining the takeover of the Nanda dynasty and expansion of the Magadha kingdom under the Mauryan rulers.

Solution:The Nanda dynasty, which was established by Mahapadma Nanda, was taken over by Chandragupta Maurya. This led to the foundation of the Mauryan dynasty.
Chandragupta became the ruler of the Magadha kingdom. He was followed by his son Bindusara and grandson Ashoka. The kingdom expanded under their rule. They extended the territory to include most of the Indian subcontinent. The empire extended from modern Afghanistan to Karnataka in the South and Bengal in the East. Thus, the Mauryan Empire was established.
