Question

How water gets break down into our body

Open in App
Solution

BbThis don’t happens as such as the protein, carbohydrates, fats, lipids, amylase, etc. broke down. Water actually don't get broken down in our body. Water molecules are attached with the hydrogen bond present in them, as water is 70% of our body, so is that in broken(in ionic) form? No ,it is not in either ways.

In spite of breaking down, the water molecules are helpful in many ways, it consist of hydrogen bond between them. Like it increases the effectiveness of the medicines, it controls the flow of blood, it make our digestive system maintained, etc.
In biological process, water molecules can not be broken to its elements ( O and H).

Water can be taken out by hydrolysis from a molecules: Like Lactose can be hydrolyzed by the enzyme LACTASE to glucose and galactose molecule of water.

1 LACTOSE +1 H2O = 1 glucose + 1 galactose.

In the reverse process 1 glucose + 1 galactose will be converte to 1 lactose + 1 water.
