China overthrew their long established monarchy in 1911.
Japan had resisted colonial rule and had defeated Russia which showed its military capabilities.
These improvements inspired the Vietnamese to great extant.
They set up various association in both countries such as Restoration society in Tokyo, and Restoration of Vietnam in China.
