(i) Acetyl chloride to acetaldehyde

CH3COClH2/Pd−−−−−−BaSO4Boiling xyleneCH3CHO.

(ii) Acetamide to methylamine

CH3CONH2KOH−−Br2CH3NH2

i) The first reaction is the Rosenmund reduction reaction. Here acyl halide is converted into the corresponding aldehyde.

ii) The second reaction is Hoffmann bromamide reaction. Here the acetamide is converted into amines.
