Solution

Rancidity:

When fats and oils stay open for long, they get oxidized and become rancid (old and stale), and their smell and taste change. This process is known as rancidity.

Indicators of rancidity in cheese:

  1. To check whether the cheese has become rancid or not, we can identify it through its taste and smell.
  2. If the cheese has a bad taste and a foul smell, it states that the cheese has become rancid.

Hence, by its taste and smell, we can tell whether cheese has become rancid or not.
