How will you distinguish between a convex lens ans a concave lens:

Keep the lens close to some printed matter and see the image of the printed matter through it. If the letters appear enlarged then it is convex lens and if they appear diminished then it is a concave lens.

We can distinguish convex and concave lens simply by watching, If the lens is thicker at center and thinner at end then this is a convex lens and if thinner at center and thicker at ends then this is concave lens.
