from chloroform: Chloroform reacts with acetone in the presence of bass.
(b) Phenyl isocyanides from Chloroform: When
chloroform reacts with primary amine example aniline, ethyl amine in presence
of alcoholic potassium hydroxide with the production of a bad persistent small
compound known as phenyl isocyanide (carbylamine reaction) is formed.

(c) Acetylene from chloroform: When chloroform is heated with silver powder, acetylene is produced.
(d) Salicylaldehyde from chloroform: When chloroform is heated with phenol and alcoholic KOH O-salicylaldehyde is produced.
