Asexual reproduction takes place in unicellular organisms and involves only one parent which is capable of producing the offspring. Also, the offsprings produced in asexual reproduction are identical to each other. Binary fission takes place in amoeba and the process shows all the characteristics which proves that it is an asexual mode of reproduction. The nucleus of the single parent divides and gives rise to two daughter cells which are identical to each other. Hence, it is considered as an asexual method of reproduction.
