How will you use two identical prisms so that a ray of white light incident on one prism emerges out of the second prism as white light? Draw the diagram.

Solution


We can place one prism straight and the other identical prism upside down, so that the light that emerges from the second prism is white light. The light that emerges from the first prism is incident on the second prism in such a way that the one emerging from the second one gives a white light on the screen that is kept perpendicular to the emerging ray.
