Question

how would the magnetic field produced by a long current carrying wire will change, if current through it is doubled and the length of the wire is halved

Solution

The force experienced by a current carrying conductor is given by,F=B I L sinθ.So B= FI L sinθ, when current is 2I and length is L/2 then, B=F×22I L sinθ= FI L sinθ, thus from this change , we come to know that the value of magnetic field remains unchanged.
