• One molecule of CO₂ is made up of one carbon atom and two oxygen atoms.
• Plant use CO₂ and release oxygen as a part of photosynthesis.
• The most effective way to test for CO₂ is to bubble the gas through “ lime water”, a diluted solution of calcium hydroxide. When we bubble carbon dioxide through the solution, it forms a solid precipitate of calcium carbonate- chalk or limestone.
