Hydra is a fresh water animal that is best studied under a microscope. Hydra is commonly found in pond water.
Hydrozoa includes small, predatory animals. They either live independently or in colony in freshwater or in saltwater.
Polyps are the free-living species, which could be either solitary or in the form of colonies. So Hydra is placed in hydrozoa.
