Solution

Preparation of Hydrogen(Haber's process): Hydrogen does not combine with Nitrogen under ordinary conditions.

  • But, Hydrogen and Nitrogen react in the presence of Iron(Fe) as a catalyst at high pressure and temperature.

N2(g)+3H2(g)fe2NH3(g)+HeatNitrogenHydrogenAmmonia

  • The reaction is reversible and exothermic (produces heat).
  • Ammonia is manufactured by this process, which is known as the “Haber process”
  • Hydrogen combines with Nitrogen to form Ammonia in the presence of Iron as a catalyst at high pressure and temperature.
