The brain and the spinal cord are parts of the central nervous system. The brain is divided intp 3 parts - forebrain, midbrain and the hindbrain.
The forebrain comprises of 3 parts - cerebrum, thalamus and hypothalamus. The neurosecretory cells are present in the hypothalamus and they produce hypothalamic hormones.
The hypothalamus is connected to the pituitary glands. The pituitary gland has 2 lobes - anterior pituitary lobe and posterior pituitary lobe. These lobes secrete the hormones produced by the neurosecretory cells of the hypothalamus.
