Hypothesize what happens to sound waves when they reach a wall or other solid ,flat object.

Whenever any wave comes in contact with an object,

following things may happen things may happen

1. it may get fully transmitted
2. it may get fully reflected
3. it may get partly transmitted and partly reflected.

in real time we see the 3rd one happening most of the times.
Sound also behaves similarly.
