I am aware that 1° amine and 2° amine are different functional groups, but are 1° amide and 2° amide different functional groups?

Solution

Dear Student,

Actually, as per IUPAC, there can be many different types of amides including 2o amides.
All these are considered different functional groups.

Amides are defined as the derivative of oxoacids
RkE(=O)l(OH)m (l ≠ 0) where an acidic hydroxy group is replaced by an amino or substituted amino group.
