We will let a be your age now.

Your age 6 years ago would then be expressed as a6 years

Twice your age six years ago can be expressed as 2(a6) or 2a12

Therefore, the equation can be written as,
a=(2a12)3

a=2a15

a+15=2a15+15

a+15=2a

a+15a=2aa

15=a

a=15 years
