I am a plant and considered as a producer.

Plants perform photosynthesis which is the process in which they use carbon dioxide and water in the presence of sunlight to synthesize nutrients such carbohydrates in the form of glucose and release oxygen. Hence they form the base of a food chain as they are primary producers.
