Solution

For SI, principal =Rs. 12,000
Time =2 yrs
Rate =6% p.a.

SI =PRT100=Rs. 12000×12×6100= Rs. 1440

For CI, principal =Rs. 12,000, Time =2 yrs

Rate =6% p.a

Amount =p(1+R100)n

=12,000(1+6100)2

=12,000×5350×5350

= Rs. 48×53×5310= Rs. 13483.20

C.I.= Rs. 13483.20 Rs. 12,000= Rs. 1483.20

Excess amount = Rs. 1483.20Rs. 1440= Rs. 43.20.
