$\therefore$ Selling price $=$ Marked price $-\frac{\text{Discount}\%}{100}\times MP$

$\Rightarrow 495=x-\frac{1}{100}\times x$

$\Rightarrow 495=\frac{100x-x}{100}$

$\Rightarrow 495=\frac{99x}{100}$ [by cross - multiplication]

$\Rightarrow 99x=49500$

$\Rightarrow x=500$

Hence, the marked price is $Rs.500$
