If $A = 3 x^{2} - 4 x + 1, B = 5 x^{2} + 3 x - 8 a n d C = 4 x^{2} - 7 x + 3$ , then find

(A + B) - C

Solution

Given, $A = 3 x^{2} - 4 x + 1, B = 5 x^{2} + 3 x - 8$ and $C = 4 x^{2} - 7 x + 3$
$(A + B) - C = (3 x^{2} - 4 x + 1 + 5 x^{2} + 3 x - 8) - (4 x^{2} - 7 x + 3)$
On combining the like terms,
$= (3 x^{2} + 5 x^{2} - 4 x + 3 x + 1 - 8) - (4 x^{2} - 7 x + 3) = (8 x^{2} - x - 7) - (4 x^{2} - 7 x + 3) = 8 x^{2} - x - 7 - 4 x^{2} + 7 x - 3 = 8 x^{2} - 4 x^{2} - x + 7 x - 7 - 3 = 4 x^{2} + 6 x - 10$
