Solution

Given:

The lateral surface of a cylinder is 94.2 cm2

Height of the cylinder (h)=5 cm

Let the radius of the cylinder be r.

CSA of cylinder is 2πrh.

2πrh=94.2 cm2

2×3.14×r×5 cm=94.2 cm2

31.4r=94.2 cm

r=94.2 cm31.4

r=3 cm

Hence, the radius of the base is 3 cm.
