(i) z3 − 3 (z − 10) = z3 − 3z + 30
= (10 × 10 × 10) − (3 × 10) + 30
= 1000 − 30 + 30 = 1000
(ii) p2 − 2p − 100
= (−10) × (−10) − 2 (−10) − 100
= 100 + 20 − 100 = 20
