(i) In the following figure, if ED = 10 cm, BG = 8 cm and BE = CD = 9 cm, then find the area of $△$CDF.

(ii) If EG = 5 cm then find the area of $△$BGE.

(i) If a triangle and a parallelogram are on the same base and between the same parallel, then the area of the parallelogram would be twice the area of the triangle.

$\text{Area of}EDCB=10\times 8=80{\text{cm}}^2.$

So, area of DFC $=\frac{1}{2}\times 80=40{\text{cm}}^2$

(ii) A($triangleBGE)=\frac{1}{2}\times EG\times BG$

$A\left(△BGE\right)=\frac{1}{2}\times 5\times 8=20{\text{cm}}^2$
