Solution

The correct option is C Adolf Hitler
The Paris Peace Process had compelled Germany to sign the Treaty of Versailles in 1919. Germany lost some of its territories like Alsace and Lorraine, northern Schleswig and Saarland and so on as mandated by the Treaty of Versailles. Germany saw this as a humiliation. The sense of defeat was used to foster fierce nationalistic feelings among the common German masses. And one man, Adolf Hitler, benefitted the most from this feeling. He joined the National Socialist German Workers Party in 1919. This party later came to be known as the Nazi Party. The Nazi philosophy included nationalism and socialism.

The party wanted to make Germany a major power in the entire world. Hitler became the leader of this party on August 2, 1934 after the death of President Hindenburg. After coming to power, Hitler’s authoritarian and militarist behaviour became more evident. He raised a strong army.
