Solve the following pair of equations
x+y=3.3, 0.63x2y=1 where 3x2y0.

Given pair of linear equations is
x+y=3.3......(i) and 0.63x2y=1
The second equation can be expressed as follows:

0.63x2y=1

0.6=3x+2y3x2y=0.6.....(ii)
Now, multiplying Eq. (i) by 2 and then adding with Eq. (ii), we get
2x+2y=6.6
3x2y =0.6
––––––––––––––––
5x =6x=65=1.2


Now, put the value of x in Eq. (i) to get the value of y.
1.2+y=3.3
y=3.31.2
y=2.1
Hence, the required values of x and y are 1.2 and 2.1, respectively.
