The correct option is D West
Suppose the person start walking from point A.
First the person cover a distance of 2 km walking straight, then 1 km towards his right and then again 1 km towards his right.
Now as given, the final direction from the house(A) is North-West.
This means before taking second right, he was walking towards North and before that he was walking towards West.
So, at the beginning the person started walking towards West.
Hence, the answer is West.
