According to the condition
$2x+4=80$
$2x=80-4$
$2x=76$
$x=76÷2$
$x=38$

(ii) Let the number $=x$
According to the condition
$x-35=53-x$
$x+x=53+35$
$2x=88$
$x=44$
$\therefore$ Number $=44$
