Solution
The correct option is A Bhoodan Movement Vinoba Bhave was a reformer and an ardent disciple of Mahatma Gandhi. He was the founder of the Bhoodan Yajana (Land-gift) movement. Born in an upper caste family, he abandoned his studies and joined Gandhi's ashram in Sabarmati. Gandhi's teachings led Bhave to a life of austerity dedicated to improving Indian village life. Bhave's idea of the land-gift movement was conceived in Andhra Pradesh in 1951. A landholder offered him an acreage (piece of land) when he appealed on behalf of a group of landless Dalits. He then walked from village to village, appealing for gifts of land to be distributed among the landless. He related the act of giving to the principle of ahimsa (non-violence).
