I tried solving this but I did not get the answer. So please guide me how to solve this. X+1/4=-3/8

Dear student,
Here we have to find the value of x
Given that
X+1/4=-3/8 ( Take 1/4 to RHS so that it becomes -1/4)
X=-3/8(-1/4)
Now we have to equilizer the denominators
To that multiply by 2 in denominator and neumerator of 1/4
So thath we get 1×2/4×2=2/8
Then
X=-3/8-(2/8)=-5/8
