Amir Khusro was a poet, historian and music composer. He was a respected member of the court of Jalal ud-Din Khalji. He later went on to record many aspects of Ala ud-Din Khalji's reign. Under the patronage of Nizamuddin Auliya, he wrote the Ashiqua, the Nuh Sipiher, the Khazain-ul-Futuh, and numerous other works of poetry. He composed his bilingual quatrains in Hindi and Persian.
