Solution

The correct option is C Maximilien Robespierre
Maximilien Robespierre was born on 6 May, 1758, in France. He was a radical Jacobine leader and a principal figure in the French Revolution. In 1793, he controlled the Committe of Public Safety, the principal organ of the revolutionary government. The period from 1793-1794 was given a special name due to his actions. It was a period of violent repression. During this period, he arrested, imprisoned, and executed the people he thought were against the revolution. Many people including priets, nobels, and even people from his own party were executed. However, this violent period was brought to an end by the French National Assembly with the execution of Robespierre on 28 July, 1794.
