(i) Let the required number be $x$

According to question,

$4 x - 20 = 360 \Rightarrow 4 x = 360 + 20 \Rightarrow 4 x = 380 \Rightarrow x = 380 \div 4 = 95$

(ii) Let the required number be $x$

According to question,

$5 x - 63 = \frac{1}{2} x \Rightarrow 5 x - \frac{1}{2} x = 63 \Rightarrow \frac{9 x}{2} = 63 \Rightarrow x = \frac{63 \times 2}{9} \Rightarrow x = 14$
