  • Alluvial Soil - The coarser texture of the soil is available normally in the upper course of the river after river reaching the plains. Finer texture of the soil is available in the lower course of the river.
  • The Indian Ganges has formed Terai coarser alluvium in Uttarakhand and finer alluvium in the Bengal.
  • Two cash crops that grow well in an alluvial soil are Sugarcane and Jute.
