The latent heat absorbed by ice is greater than the heat absorbed by water at the same temperature. Thus, ice appears cold to mouth than water.

Ice appears colder to mouth than water.

Ice has less energy than that of water. Water has the latent heat of fusion in it. But, it is hidden so it is in the form of energy.
