Electroencephalograph (EEG) is a piece of medical equipment used to record the electrical waves generated by the brain. It has the capacity to detect activity in any part of the brain. Monitoring the activity of the brain allows us to detect irregularities in the waves which could mean the person has a mental disorder. Similar to EEG, electrocardiogram (ECG) is used to detect electrical waves produced by the heart muscles. Irregular electrical waves from the heart could mean potential heart problems in a person.
