Solution
P: Pharynx - Pharynx is the common passageway for air and food, thus having a role in both respiratory and digestive systems. In the respiratory system, the main role of the pharynx is to allow the inhaled air entering the nasal cavity to move to the respiratory tract.
Q: Larynx - Larynx plays a vital role in the respiratory system, by allowing the passage of air through the respiratory tract and preventing the blocking of the airway by food and drinks. Larynx also houses vocal folds and manipulate the pitch and volume of the sound, thus it is also called the organ of phonation or the voice box.
R: Trachea - Trachea or the windpipe is a hollow tube that connects larynx to the bronchi of the lungs. It provides the air passage to the lungs for respiration, i.e., inhalation of oxygen-rich gas and the exhalation of the carbon dioxide-rich gas.
S: Bronchi - Bronchi are small branching airways that evolve into tiny air sacs called alveoli, which is the site of oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange into bloodstream in the respiratory system.
