  • First Anglo Mysore War:
    • Hyder Ali and Nizam of Hyderabad launched an attack on Arcot.
    • Multiple battles took place in Ambur, Thiruchanapalli, Thiruvannamalai, and
    • The British military entered the war.
    • First Anglo-Mysore war came to an end and Madras treaty was signed in 1769.
  • Second Anglo Mysore War:
    • The Marathas under the leadership of Madhava Rao launched an attack on the Srirangapatana, while the British broke the treaty and attacked Mahe.
    • Hyder Ali faced defeat in the battle of Port Novae and eventually died due
    • to illness after which Tippu Sultan took the charge and defeated the British.
