Open in App
Solution

  • Concentrated sulphuric acid produces sugar charcoal from sugar (C12H22O11).
C12H22O11 conc.H2SO4−−−−−−−− 12C+11H2O
  • In this reaction H2SO4 has a great affinity for water so it readily removes water from sugar and thus acts as a dehydrating agent.
