  2. When hydrochloric acid(HCl)is added to silver nitrate(AgNO3), a thick curdy white precipitate of silver chloride(AgCl) is formed first.
  3. It is soluble in ammonium hydroxide(NH4OH) solution due to the formation of a complex salt [Ag(NH3)2Cl [diamminesilver (I)chloride].
