Identify the are the steps for wastewater treatment.
Sludge treatment
Sedimentation
Sewage treatment is the process of removing contaminants from wastewater, primarily from household sewage. Physical, chemical, and biological processes are used to remove contaminants and produce treated wastewater (or treated effluent) that is safer for the environment.
Heavier impurities are removed through the process of sedimentation. The settled solids are called ‘sludge’.
Sludge treatment is used to break sludge into smaller particles with the help of anaerobic bacteria. The result is a safe semi-solid that can be used as a compost.
