Cellular respiration, whether aerobic or anaerobic, is a metabolic process which converts nutrient into energy (stored in the form of ATP) and waste products. Aerobic respiration uses the oxygen gathered during the process of respiration to facilitate ATP synthesis. It always takes place in the presence of oxygen. Whereas, anaerobic respiration is possible both in yeast and humans. Yeast cells gives ethanol as end product while the same process in muscles gives lactic acid as end product.
