Solution

The correct option is B

Kyoto protocol ---- Climate change

The Kyoto Protocol is an international treaty which extends the UNFCCC, and commits State Parties to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, based on the premise that global warming exists and human-made GHG emissions have caused it. The Kyoto Protocol was adopted in Kyoto, Japan, on December 11, 1997 and entered into force on February 16, 2005. There are currently 192 countries which have ratified to this. The Montreal Protocol was signed at Montreal (Canada) in 1987 (effective in 1989) to control the emission of ozone depleting substances. CFCs are banned from being produced, and other ozone depleting substances are also being phased out. The Basel Convention is an international treaty that was designed to reduce the movements of hazardous waste between nations. The Ramsar Convention is an international treaty for the conservation and sustainable use of wetlands.
