All major political parties went to strike and people came on street defying curfew. It resulted in the establishment of a constitutional monarch. Bolivia witnessed a struggle against the privatization of water. The Bolivian Government sold the water right to a Multinational Company which raised the price of water many times.

The people revolted against this and forced the official to give up water rights. Thus, the foundation of the country's politics is the element absent in these movements.
