This is the method of preparation of nylon-6. Phenol is first reduced with hydrogen at high temperature in the presence of a nickel catalyst to obtain cyclohexanol. This on heating with copper undergoes oxidation to form cyclohexanone. Reaction with hydroxylamine in the presence of acidic medium forms an oxime.

This is done in the presence of an acid that rearranges to form caprolactam. The acidic hydrolysis of caprolactam gives a monomer which on polymerization gives nylon-6.

Hence, the correct option is B
