Identify the following labeled parts of pituitary gland.
I.Anterior lobe II.Posterior lobe
The parts labeled I and II are the anterior lobe and posterior lobe of the pituitary gland respectively. The pituitary has two major lobes, an anterior lobe and a posterior lobe. There is also a small intermediate lobe in between the two. The anterior lobe is responsible for the production of pituitary hormones. The posterior lobe receives and stores the hypothalamic hormones transported through the neurohypophyseal tract, which is essentially a bundle of nerves.
