Determination of IUPAC name

The compound has one Carbon (C)atom so the word root is “Meth”.

The compound is saturated in nature So, pre suffix is “ane”.

The compound has a functional group of alcohol. So, the suffix is “ol”

Add all the terms as Meth + ane + ol.

So, the IUPAC name is Methanol.
