Solution

The correct option is C

Carbon Dioxide

Coal is mainly composed of carbon. When coal is burnt in the presence of air, carbon reacts with oxygen gas that is present in air (atmosphere) and produces carbon dioxide gas (CO2). In cases when carbon (coal) is burnt in limited presence of oxygen, (CO) (carbon monoxide) is produced. But, (CO2) is produced in general cases.
