In general, more easily liquefiable gases are readily adsorbed as vander waal's forces are stronger near the critical temperatures. Thus 1 g of activated charcoal adsorbs 380 ml of sulphur dioxide, 16 ml of methane and 4.5 ml of hydrogen. Hence SO2 is adsorbed more readily by activated charcoal.
