The figure shown above represents pathway taken during a reflex action. This path is better known as a reflex arc. The receptor is the place where the impulse is sensed. It then travels through sensory neuron to the spinal cord. There it gets processed and further transmitted through relay neuron and finally, via motor neuron, it goes to the effector muscles.
